Halifax has lowest Variable rate Mortgage
Halifax Ireland lowered it’s variable rate mortgages for new customers today. For someone with a deposit of 25% or more - Halifax have the lowest rates at the moment. For an LTV of 50 to 75% the rate is 2.75%. If you are lucky enough to have a 50% deposit or more - the rate is 2.65%.
Halifax still offer to pay up to 1000 Euro towards the legal fees of people who switch mortgages from another lender.
If you are with one of the lenders with higher variable rates - like Ulster and First Active - you could save around €250 a month by switching to one of the lower rates. Well worth thinking about. No penalty to leave a variable rate - and the new lender funding all or most of the legal fees. It’s a no brainer really.
